Peach Blossom Highway returns to NMASS with a cast of friends to present a live performance of the classic neo-dada radio play “The City Wears A Slouch Hat”, with music by John Cage and works by Kenneth Patchen.
Peach Blossom Highway is the duo project of Austin artists Jess Griggs & Jordan Walsh. Described as an “unbroadcast-pirate-radio-phenomenon with precious little regard for anyone’s betterment including their own”, PBC is at one the most important and least serious effort in Griggs & Walsh’s creative world. Known for heart on the sleeve honesty protected by layers of flowery prose, PCB hopes to help their audience ask “why am I crying, why are you crying, why do I suddenly miss my mom, oh god”. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll most likely be a little perturbed, and together we’ll bring back the drama and wonder of radio into an unsuspecting world, kicking and screaming.
For this presentation, PCB will be enlisting the help of forces from the Goliath Expanded UniverseTM to shout into the void louder than ever before.
